The Complete Idiot's Guide to Microbiology

Get Microbiology Demystified instead. This Idiot's guide only covered the first 3 chapters of my micro text book. Where as the Demystified book covered all chapters of my college text book.

Thought this would be a good supplement to my sophomore level Microbiology text, but so far, I have not used it at all. When I've needed a simpler explanation (an overview) of a particular subject, I've looked in the table of contents of the book and not found what I'm looking for. I've received much more use out of the "Essentials" book (~$7) that I bought at the same time.

The author of C.I.G. to Microbiology seems to have been more interested in being "cutesy" with the content rather than focusing on necessary information. I would not recommend this to anyone.

I purchased this book as a "prep" for Microbiology for nursing school. I HIGHLY recommend it for all nursing/medical students!

My wife and I read this book like a reference guide, but is definitely a good book, starting from introduction, to how gradually microorganisms are defined for a layman like me.

The book itself is good. High quality and written pretty well. Just like all the other books in the Idoiots series. But it didn't really help me. Didn't go along with what my instructor taught. So I didn't really use it.

This book really helps me comprehend the concepts that are so difficult to decipher in the text book.
