Some girl said you can get all this info easily on base. I totally disagree. I've been a wife for 2 years now, and when I first got married- no one helped me at all. I actually got more information from websites than I did from any one person, or a group of persons on base.

This book is perfect for those who do not have the luxury of living at one of those bases that bend over backwards to accomodate you. Which, is probably 99% of the target audience.

So personally, I would disregard the negative review and take it from the newbies like myself- get educated and educated fast! I never found a book like this 2 years ago, but I wish I had.

This book is a quick, easy & very informative read. I reccomend it to any military spouse. You can tell that the author has had personal experience with many of the situations described in the book. It is also well organized, so you can flip directly to the chapter of the most interest to you. Consider this book an investment, as the author provides great tips & info, that will help you save money & also make the most of your experience as a military spouse.

I've been a military significant other for over 3 years now, and it's great to have all this important information at my fingertips! I live nowhere near an active duty base, so I'm not able to get free information. I've found myself flipping to certain chapters in the book quite frequently to do my research! :)

As a spouse associated with the military for 31 years, both Active Duty and National Guard, I found the information to be a wonderful resource for those new to the military. Not all families on Active Duty live on the base due to a shortage in housing, National Guard/Reserve members often live much farther from the base and this is a wonderful resource for them as well. This helps those that are fairly new to the military life know where to go and whom to contact for help and information especially when they live off the base. I wish when I was a new military spouse that this information was as easily availble to me.

Even though as a 12 yr seasoned spouse most of this book was stuff I already knew, (some was new and nice to learn) I REALLY wished I could have owned this book 11 1/2 yrs ago before I had to learn it the hard way! This book is certainly a must have to learn the ins and outs of being a military spouse. Some commands you get lucky and there are resources available everywhere you look but a lot of the time you don't know about a program or an allotment until it's too late. If you or someone you know are new to the military, YOU MUST HAVE THIS BOOK!! Even if some of the programs get changed in the near future, the book as a whole is worth every penny to point you in the right direction.

This book is an amazing read for all of us who haven't been a military spouse for 28 years. So much wonderful information and support packed in. I would recommend it to other military spouses I know. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR WRITING THIS!!! IT NEEDED TO BE DONE!!! XOXOXO

This book is a great resource for a new spouse who has NO idea where to start on a military base to get information. I'm a 4 year spouse and my husband had NO clue where to direct me at our first duty station. I also moved there on my own while he was deployed. I had tons of questions, lots of doubts, and no direction. A book like this will help anyone find their way! I recommend it to spouses that are just getting started, and even fiancees so that they can get a head start!!! New spouses will find this to be a great resource and veteran spouses might just find it to be a great refresher! I want to thank the author for taking the time to put it all together in one book as a great resource!!!

This book is a godsend for anyone who has a spouse, significant other or family member who is in the military. The author clearly knows her resources and shares them as well as great advice in an orderly and easily read way. Military life is one that many people know nothing about- even when they are thrust into it!

Going into this I was clueless. This book definitely helped in terms of breaking down concepts, terms, and other important things I didn't quite understand.

Great book! This book is more on the everyday living side. (DEERS, Tricare, how to deal with his deployment). Good tips and helpful information for those new to the military life. I wouldn't recommend this for seasoned wives as they already know most of this information.
