I think nearly 40% of the book gives specs and costs on the BETTER scooters on the market. I would endorse all of their suggestions. If you haven't done your research, you can really get burned on a scooter purchase today. China is flooding the market with very cheap scoots so you can either do a lot of front end research or get burned and end up with a disappointment lying in your garage. This book is part of that research. It does NOT however teach you all the maintenance ins-and-outs so don't expect it to be your pocket mechanix guide. If you haven't bought your scooter yet, this is an excellent first read.

There are differences between motorcycling and scootering and I think the authors helped fill this gap. There's some good starter information here as well as details useful for a regular rider.

This is a good book if you are truly a "idiot" about scooters and wish to get up to speed about the basics of these two wheeled wonders. This book will not help much in learning how to repair/maintain a Scooter.

This book can be useful in getting a "significant other " on board about scooters if they just do not know much about them and need some information to make them more comfortable with trying one out.

If you have already owned one or two scooters or have done a moderate amount of research on the web you could probably skip this book and find something more technical.

You can't beat Amazon for books with free shipping.
