About the Author

Brian Tarcy holds a B.S. in Journalism from Ohio University, and has authored or co-authored more than a dozen books on sports, business and medicine. He has written stories for Boston magazine, Boston Business magazine, Unique Opportunities, Teaching Tolerance, The Boston Herald, The Boston Globe, and USAir magazine. Following the format and style of the series, there is a quirky edge in exploring the history of the sport, but the information will keep a reader turning fast laps throughout the 2008 season.

Author Brian Tarcy takes the high-groove on the super-speedway with the triumphs & controversies, trivia and stats within the almanac-styled format. And there are golden nuggets for even the biggest fans; with sections on the current top drivers, the oftentimes very confusing scoring system, rule changes and racing terms.

By not taking things too seriously, Tarcy makes the 208 pages a fun ride to the checkered flag.

The Idiots books are great, and the NASCAR one is no exception. This guide was a great introduction to the basics of the sport. Great for anyone just getting into the sport, or the true NASCAR fan wanting to brush up on the basics.
