I own this book and I have to say you don't have to be Wiccan to get something meaningful from this book. Its sections on seasonal cooking and wildcrafting are very good. I enjoy the sections on calling the Watchtowers and the elemental spirits (gnomes, salamanders, sylphs and undines). All-in-all this is a very good book and I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in the Craft.

The title says it all... if you're a wiccan this book is okay, but if you follow another pagan path then this book will probably annoy you. The entire thing is peppered with references to the rede and to the god and goddess. If you can get past all that then you will find a very random assortment of occult information. The bulk of the book concerns itself with kitchen craft, working with elemental energies and entities and a bit of green craft is thrown in as well. It's got recipes for food thrown in at random places that are okay, but if I wanted a cookbook I would have bought one. It's also not purely a magick book since the entire thing is filled with references to wiccan religious and moral beliefs. Overall this book is good for someone who is just starting out on the path of magick, especially if they're starting out with wicca, but it's a very basic book that is only helpful to spark the interest of someone new to the craft or to a dabbler. If you're more advanced and looking for something more complete then I suggest you stick with the Cunningham books and The Fairy Bible or A Witch's Guide To Fairy Folk. They have a much more in-depth body of information.
