Editorial Reviews

From the Back Cover

You're no idiot, of course. You know echinacea can help a runny nose, massage is good for aching back muscles, and yoga can help relax a tired body. But when it comes to reflexology--the practice of healing the body by applying pressure to different parts of the feet--you'd rather just soak your tired dogs in hot water and call it a day. Don't feel so de-feeted just yet! The Complete Idiot's Guide to Reflexology is a fun, easy-to-follow, illustrated guide to massaging your own (and others) feet to treat back pain, headaches, upset stomachs, colds, allergies, stress, depression, and more. In this Complete Idiot,s Guide you'll learn how to: --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

2.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't teach you enough, October 10, 2001
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This book is thick for a "Complete Idiot's Guide" book. It's packed with information. Unfortunately much of the information is on why you should try out reflexology. Funny, I bought the book because I already knew why and because I wanted to learn how to do it. In other words, the author tries too hard -- waste the reader's time -- justifying the legitimacy of reflexology.

So you don't get your feet wet (no pun intended) until chapter 13, when the author starts talking about techniques. Unfortunately she's too talkative; there's a lot of unnecessary stuff, which the book falls short when it comes to really teaching you and me how to practice reflexology. The photos are okay but few. Last year I saw a colored reflexology book at the local ...store and it was a much better book, because from the very start it delved into the how. Too bad when I went back the book was already sold out.

In short, this book gives you good background info on reflexology, but you won't learn much on the techniques from it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Complete and easy to understand, well researched., November 6, 1999
This book is more than an idiot's guide, it is a professional handbook. You can follow the instructions to do self treatment. Information on essential oils is helpful. Author has a delightful sense of humor which makes reading a pleasure. A great book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not just about Reflexology but how to be and stay healthy!, September 30, 1999
By A Customer
Frankie's book is fantastic! She has a rare skill to be able to communicate clearly and keep it entertaining.

This book is not just about the wonderful healing art, Reflexology, but discusses how the 5 body systems interact and react. Frankie talks about how you can relieve many symptoms from allergies to PMS with hand and foot reflexology as well as with other methods. I can't wait for her next book, The Complete Idiots Guide to Herbal Remedies - I know that between the two of them that I'll be able to maintain my health and heal myself naturally when I'm not quite right.

I promise you will learn much more than you expect and have fun too!

PS. Reflexology is GREAT DURING DATES to break the ice!!!! (just be sure to read page 6 before you ask your date for a treatment ;-)
