This book is thick for a "Complete Idiot's Guide" book. It's packed with information. Unfortunately much of the information is on why you should try out reflexology. Funny, I bought the book because I already knew why and because I wanted to learn how to do it. In other words, the author tries too hard -- waste the reader's time -- justifying the legitimacy of reflexology. So you don't get your feet wet (no pun intended) until chapter 13, when the author starts talking about techniques. Unfortunately she's too talkative; there's a lot of unnecessary stuff, which the book falls short when it comes to really teaching you and me how to practice reflexology. The photos are okay but few. Last year I saw a colored reflexology book at the local ...store and it was a much better book, because from the very start it delved into the how. Too bad when I went back the book was already sold out. In short, this book gives you good background info on reflexology, but you won't learn much on the techniques from it.

This book is more than an idiot's guide, it is a professional handbook. You can follow the instructions to do self treatment. Information on essential oils is helpful. Author has a delightful sense of humor which makes reading a pleasure. A great book.

Not just about Reflexology but how to be and stay healthy!,

This review is from: The Complete Idiot's Guide to Reflexology (Paperback)
Frankie's book is fantastic! She has a rare skill to be able to communicate clearly and keep it entertaining. This book is not just about the wonderful healing art, Reflexology, but discusses how the 5 body systems interact and react. Frankie talks about how you can relieve many symptoms from allergies to PMS with hand and foot reflexology as well as with other methods. I can't wait for her next book, The Complete Idiots Guide to Herbal Remedies - I know that between the two of them that I'll be able to maintain my health and heal myself naturally when I'm not quite right. I promise you will learn much more than you expect and have fun too! PS. Reflexology is GREAT DURING DATES to break the ice!!!! (just be sure to read page 6 before you ask your date for a treatment ;-)

This should be the first book on Reflexology you pick up, it is packed full of information and very entertaining to read. Frankie's writing style is professional, yet personal too. This book has everything you need to know about Reflexology, and a great resource link that I have used extensively.

This book really gives details on how to help yourself & others with basic reflexology techniques. Specifics of each area of the body are covered, how to watch for problems & ways to fix them. For example, ways to deal with symptoms for PMS, back problems, motion sickness, allergies & asthma. Uses of other related items like aromatherapy lotions & oils, reflexology tools & nutritional supplements. It also covers fun stuff like figuring personalities by checking out people's feet. :)

This book is PERFECT for those just starting out in Reflexology. This book is informative, funny and extremely detailed! The books goes into much detail on all the different body systems and how everything is connected. The only thing I didn't like was that you have to read alot before you can actually start practicing reflexology. There is a part that I really enjoyed that gives you info on how to tell a person's personality by looking at their feet. :D Lots of humor and fun stuff that will make you want to keep reading until you finish. I read half of the book in the first day. You'll like it!!! :)

This book is incredibly informative but done with humor. Makes you want to run out and get a treatment as well as give a treatment to everyone that crosses your path (well maybe not everyone). Can't wait to read Idiot's Guide to Herbal Remedies.

I love this book!!! As a new reflexologist, I find it so simple to use this book as a quick reference guide when I need to "remember" things I have forgotten as well, needing information on the different systems of the body. Its nice to be able to tell a client more about their problems, and even better to be able to give them advice on how to handle them holistically. This book gives great information but is funny and entertaining enough to hold any readers attention for hours!Thank you for a great book! |
