3.0 out of 5 stars The Complete Idiot's guide to The Science of Everything, July 12, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Complete Idiot's Guide to the Science of Everything (Mass Market Paperback)
Still like the idea of this book but it didn't quite live up to my expectations. Some of the topics were odd, for example, would a person get wetter in the rain if they ran or walked across a parking lot. The book cited a 1995 study that stated standing still in the rain would leave you wetter than walking or running in the rain. (duh!). There were other topics that were done much better and actually conveyed information that I didn't know which was the reason I purchased the book. The book
didn't promise to be anything but a tease or intro to a variety of subjects. On that basis, it was better than OK. The Tone and depth of writing was very understandable for a casual discussion of science, I don't regret the purchase and would say the book is good for young readers or individual who like trivia; when all is said and done, the title of the book is "The Complete Idiot's guide to The Science of Everything."The Complete Idiot's Guide to the Science of Everything
