As a "born-again" pagan, this book was an excellent resource for me. I have been in the process of rededicating myself to the craft, and this book helped me get back to the basics so to speak. It is informative and easy to read and understand. I'd definately recommend it for anyone wanting to learn the basics of spells and even witchcraft in general.

I have reviewed this book, and found it thusly:

As an eclectic solitaire, and not a Wiccan, this book has a lot of merit. For those wishing to know of Wicca, it is a good read.

This book has the opportunity to inform, teach, and be a window into an area of personal spirituality that is still a mystery to a great deal of the population. To the reader-to-be, always read well, meditate, question, evaluate what you realize as answers, and examine them as self-truths, or just another book for the home reference shelf, as one writer has spoken.

But by all means, please support this author and buy her book.

I do not practice Wicca, so I cannot quite speak as an authority on the validity of some of the contents. However, as a writer of Fantasy, I was running into a brick wall over a certain, but critical ritual in a scene, with utterly no idea what was going on there. After a couple of months of writing and rejecting things, I tried looking to books on Wicca and Witchcraft. The lists and information here are organized in an extremely easy-to-follow manner, making for a quick reference and read. It seems to have the purpose of providing a comprehensive overall look at Wicca and what it involves, for those with casual curiosity, those who need a quick reference book (especially for lists of oils, gems, colors, herbs, etc, and their attributes/purposes) and for those who are interested in starting out down that path but have no idea where to begin. As I said, it may or may not be an accurate book, but it certainly did meet my needs, and that's sufficient for me.
