More About the Author

I enjoy translating complex financial and political topics critical to people's everyday life in language that can be easily understood. I do this through my non fiction "how to" books for the Dummies series and the Idiot's Guides. I have more than 25 finance and political books on the market. Prior to writing books, I've worked as a daily newspaper reporter, a magazine editor, a press secretary for a U.S. Congressman and a fund raiser for former President Jimmy Carter, so he can continue his international work through The Carter Center. I earned my MBA at Emory University's Goizueta Business School and my BA at Rutgers University.

I was surprised how good this book was. There were a few errors with the book (I counted 4), but most of them were typos. The book provides a good history and background about the Supreme Court, the Chief Justices, and then some notable Justices. After that, the author shows how the Supreme Court affects peoples' lives by examining a variety of court cases. Reading some of the opinions will put you to sleep. I have no problem recommending this book.

1.0 out of 5 stars Too many typos, April 25, 2005

This book is interesting and presents good information, but there are way too many typographical errors -- many more than the four that another reviewer mentioned. They distract from the professionalism that a book about the Supreme Court should have. Try Supreme Court for Dummies instead.
