I've skimmed several books like this; This guide is the only one that I've read all the way through and taken copious notes to plan my next steps. I plan on revisiting this book after my new consulting biz takes off, to make sure I've covered all the bases.
To address one comment's concern: I do think it would work for non-office jobs, not just corporate execs. Read for yourself. This Idiot's Guide is definitely not for idiot's. Excellent advice!

I LOVED this book! I read it cover to cover twice and I am inspired...Jeff's plans and ideas are just plain flat out SMART and REAL. None of the mumbo-jumbo self-help business book stuff that never really says anything. Some of the ideas in here are ones I already do in running my store. But some of the other concepts and FRESH IDEAS he laid out on being more productive and making more money will push me farther...I'm kicking it into high gear.

After reading this book I actually had a step-by-step plan to follow for changing my work life. The book is easy to read and has many examples and questions for the reader to answer.

I don't usually write book reviews on Amazon...

But when I do, it is either because a book has truly exceeded expectations or because the author deserves punishment for high crimes against the State and humanity in general.

This book was truly attrocious, and I am fully convinced that the six "5 star ratings" are from close family members, or maybe just the author's grandmother five seperate times. The book could have been reduced from its roughly 250 pages down into one sentence "If you want to get rich quick, write a book titled Get Rich Quick and sell 10000 copies at $19.95."

The book consists of over 100 pages of pure filler - a vague description of Cohen's new life making twice his old salary as a freelancing consultant and author, with generously large font, entire pages devoted to lame jokes. Honestly, the whole thing has the feel that it was written as fast as this bumbling, vague charlatan could type.

DO NOT BUY. Theft. Theft of both time and money. Jeff Cohen, I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!! If you had a shred of decency, you would have put your picture in the back cover so that if I saw you in the steet I would know you so I could accost you for the return of my cash.

Not only did I read this book, but also I have attended one of the author's seminars and really enjoyed it! There are a lot of work less/earn more Internet schemes out there, but in this book the author provides legitimate ways to earn a living as a freelancer/consultant.

I really enjoyed the chapter on passive income, which is a key for working less! I also enjoyed the goal setting recommendations; so much so, my wife and I went through Jeff's process and now have a frame on our wall with pictures of our goals.

If you want more time to enjoy life, then do yourself a favor and read this book. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain!

Self-help books are rarely helpful to me. They are usually filled with vague ideas or completely impractical suggestions. This book is one of the few that actually contains specific, helpful advice and practical suggestions I will be able to implement. For the first time in a long time, I feel inspired!!!

I was given a copy of this book and I really enjoyed it. Compared to most of advice books on the market, this one was really great. I learned so much but I didn't feel like I was being bombarded with stuff. It's an easy read and you'll definitely get something good out of it!
