At the behest of one of my colleagues, I begrudgingly borrowed this book in preparation to optimize my website. I have an aversion to books in the IDIOTS and DUMMIES series and generally opt for more dignified book titles. However, as I got into this book, I was delighted to discover the breathtakingly simple and well organized presentation style of Michael Miller. I easily grasped the key concepts in the book without my eyes growing crossed. This book was BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN. I enthusiastically recommend it to anyone who needs to learn about SEO, PPC, and other web management metrics. I will be on the look out for more books from this author.

Michael Miller has penned a decent SEO book. It is easy to read, informative and already producing positive results. The Complete Idiot's Guide to Search Engine Optimization is a good investment for everyone.

The author describes the ins and outs of search engines. Here we will find a description of the most popular search engines, and how to actually use these by making a blog. They go into descriptions of spiders, which are computers designed to surf the web looking for the most popular search engines.Mark Traupman Author, The Long Lost Message

Great Primer. Being l00% new to anything online other than search and a few months kinda of using Facebook, this author was a tremendous help. I am just now using Squidoo (a fun site) and seo is a part of this. My lenses have gone from very poor visible to decent visibility. Like I said, I am very new and can not expect to go to page 1 of Google with lens that are not backlinked from sites with PR6 or better.
If you want a beginners guide, then this is it.

"The more pages that link to a page, the higher that page's PageRank - and the higher it will appear in the search results." ~ pg. 11
If you are looking for one book on Search Engine Optimization (SEO), make it this one! This is the most comprehensive book on the subject I've ever read. Michael Miller knows what he is talking about and he answers the following questions: What are search engines looking for? How do you improve your search ranking? Is your site ready for the mobile search revolution? What will decrease my site ranking? Before reading this excellent book I had no idea that website page titles were so important. I also didn't realize how unimportant some meta tags can be to Google. So Michael Miller really helps you decide what is ultimately the most important improvement you can make to your website. He gives you the best information possible to help your site reach new heights. This is truly an informative and exciting read. I learned so much about site building and I've been a webmaster for ten years. I learned that you should use your main keywords at the top of your site pages and that heading tags are really important. Since the Web contains more than 150 million websites how are people going to find yours? Michael Miller gives great advice on how to create buzz about your site and how to become an authority on any topic in order to drive visitors to your site. I completely enjoyed reading "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Search Engine Optimization." There seemed to be something new to learn on every page and I plan on implementing various ideas in the near future. Already I've seen some great changes in my site ranking just from following a few tips in this book. If you want a higher site ranking this is the book to buy! "The better your site's content, the higher your site will rank." ~ pg. 48 ~The Rebecca Review

I've just started reading this book today and so that it is fresh in my mind, I plan to submit more than one review, based on what I've read to that point. So far, the book has gotten off to a rocky start with me... The reason I bought the book was the sell-line on the front of the book "Send your site to the top of the search results list". At this point, I've been reading through several pages of explaining the intent of the book (which I thought was summed up in the sell-line) and explaining the history that preceded Search Engine searching (which is obsolete). Frankly, it's falling flat so far because I've read too much and spent too much time learning nothing I can use... I read to learn useful information or to gain, not for pleasure or trivia... I would have purchased a novel or something lighter if that was my intent. Possibly more to come.
