5.0 out of 5 stars get this one
it's really formatted for kindle, it really works, all of it, and it includes letters, novels, it's all here, with a correct and working table of contents that is accurate. i also like that the font is real lettering, and not that light faux typewriter font you sometimes get on these cheap editions. the spacing of the poems is great too. it is worth the few dollars to get...

2.0 out of 5 stars Low quality
This review is, of course, for the publishing and other aspects of the book. Poe's work stands for itself.

I had two complaints, and felt they were sufficient to justify returning the book. The paper is thin, of low quality, and the binding also seems weak. The illustrations are terrible. There may be a few that are good, but not of the dozen or so I looked...

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Book - The Best Edition you'll ever find!, June 7, 2011
I love delphi Classics; they are amazing books and this volume is no exception. All the essays, stories and other books are here. I really like the letters though; I've spent hours so far looking over them. The formatting is great and the tables help me move between them eaisly. The greatest part about these books is how cheap they are. This would cost hundreds of dollars in print! The poems are also laid out really well and i'd just like to say thank you to the publishers!

Be aware that the 2 star previous review does NOT concern the Delphi Classics edition but a printed book by another publisher! The Delphi Classics are complete and wonderfully indexed and illustrated. I recommand their anthologies that are the best available for classic literature on kindle.

2.0 out of 5 stars Low quality, December 3, 2003

This review is from: The Complete Illustrated Works of Edgar Allan Poe (Hardcover)
This review is, of course, for the publishing and other aspects of the book. Poe's work stands for itself.

I had two complaints, and felt they were sufficient to justify returning the book. The paper is thin, of low quality, and the binding also seems weak. The illustrations are terrible. There may be a few that are good, but not of the dozen or so I looked carefully at. As a class, they are amateurish and meaninglessly caricaturized so that they add nothing to the story. In one case, the picture revealed information that had not yet been made clear in the story, but was only found after turning the illustration over (The Oblong Box, and the fact of the box's contents).

Perhaps for the price this should have been expected, but it stands.
