A Totally Different Perspective,
This review is from: Complete Jack Russell, The (Paperback)
I've got a Jack Russell pup and I've been furiously reading up on the breed (in order to have a happy 'Jackie'), and reviewing books for my hobby site (because reviewing has gotten to be a bit of a habit) and this will be my 3rd review for Amazon. The interesting thing about this book is the different perspectives Mr. McKay brings to the topic. For one thing, he's a Brit and so his take on the breed involves British law and Club fancies. And more importantly, his perspective is as a person who has actually hunted with JRTs. He is knowledgeable about designing, building, and running a kennel, and so far, out of all the books I've read, he is the only one to go into any detail about these subjects. Not a book I'd suggest if you haven't read any others -- see, Jack Russell Terriers For Dummies or The Jack Russell Terrier: A Comprehensive Guide... or Parson and Jack Russell Terriers (Barron's Complete Pet Owner's Manuals) -- but definitely a book you should read if you've covered the basics and now want to broaden your perspective and knowledge base.
