4.0 out of 5 stars The person you will offer this book will never forget you., October 31, 2000

This review is from: The Complete Language of Flowers: A Treasury of Verse and Prose (Hardcover)
Elegantly binded, inserted in a rigid frame, this artistic object can stand on a table or any piece of furniture as a souvenir from a beloved friend. Each wild flower, each flower from our gardens is illustrated both by victorian paintings and by poems. The paper is thick, bright. Everything (from Ex-Libris) to typography is well thought of to please both the sender and the receiver. This book was offered to us by a young maid who decided to leave Chateau-Bois-Briand to live with her good fiancé, one hundred miles away from Nantes. Her name was Aurélie. We will never forget you, Aurélie; you chose the most elegant way one can imagine to say good-bye to a place you loved. You will always be one of the flowers of this house.

Pickles have a nice job to write this book ,great (Victorian drawing) picture companion to any flowers , nice verse & prose that weaving a romantic story & hard cover made it valuable .So at really i want to give 5 stars but my complaint is i think content or story of how flower's meaning comes is don't have many detail as i need & i like real picture more than drawing(but if you like victorianyou will happy with this book)
