5.0 out of 5 stars This book is definitely a must for anyone in this situation., January 23, 2003

This review is from: The Complete Legal Guide to Senior Care: Making Sense of the Residential, Financial and Medical Maze (Paperback)
I bought this book because I need to decide where my mother should live. I was surprised at how much information it had. It helped me think about all the choices. I think we're going to try to work out a way to help her stay at home and the book had lots of really practical stuff about doing that. I understand Medicare and Medicaid now and the differences between the kinds of facilities. I liked the lists and the worksheets that really helped me get organized. The book also helped me think about what I want to do when I get older. I think this is a good book for anyone dealing with an older parent.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Complete Legal Guide to Senior Care by Sember, October 9, 2003
This review is from: The Complete Legal Guide to Senior Care: Making Sense of the Residential, Financial and Medical Maze (Paperback)
This book is well written. It has many details on the
intricacies of Medicare, Medicaid, Supplementary Insurance
and many complex areas of the health care code. The author
explains how to manage a patient from a long distance.
This involves developing contacts in order to assist in
maintaining the patient while away from home. The author
provides a checklist which explains how to evaluate a
nursing home for accessibility, cleanliness, order and a
host of other important criteria. The work explains the various
Long Term Care Insurance Policies and alternatives.
This book will help you to craft a patient care plan given the
many constraining factors in the existing health care system.
i.e. complex regulations, cost, regional differences etc.
