In this e-book, I address the key subjects involving hypothyroidism including symptoms, diagnosis and treatments. I also discuss the causes and types of hypothyroidism, affecting millions of people in the U.S. and worldwide.

In March of 2003, at age 40 I experienced the onset of autoimmune thyroid disease but was unaware for several months of what was causing my symptoms. Through blood lab testing, I was found to have hypothyroidism caused by Hashimoto’s autoimmune thyroiditis. Due to the slow onset of the disease and my delay in starting treatment for it, I also developed co-morbid (co-occurring) conditions. I have since adjusted better to my treatment and have seen significant improvement in symptoms.

I discovered through my own experience that thyroid disorders, especially hypothyroidism can include many complications. This inspired me to learn more about my disease and about thyroid diseases in general and about the conditions that are co-morbid to them.

Following my searching and researching, I began writing online articles in the year 2005 for websites including BellaOnline Thyroid Health - where I also served as editor and forum moderator and Suite101 General Health.

I have endeavored in this resource, to share the information of most importance to readers or newly diagnosed hypothyroid patients on the subject of hypothyroidism.

NOTE: This ebook is approximately 6,668 words in length. The "Complete Look" reference in the title, is not to imply that this is an extensive medical journal but rather that the ebook contains all aspects of information on the subject that most laypersons would be seeking.

More About the Author

A husband, father and grandfather, I've been a contract salesman most of my life. During the early 1990s, I marketed an outdoors product I invented and that I formed a small corporation to patent, manufacture and sell called the "Rod Floater" (now a registered Trademark). I traveled the U.S. making presentations to groups of Wal-Mart zone and district managers and received authorization to sell the product in two regions of Wal-Mart stores for five years.

I also sold the product to Bass Pro Shops, Cabela's and Academy Stores, all of which still carry the product and I landed a national promotion for the product with Kerr-McGee Oil company who began using the product to promote their "Mystik Brand" outboard motor oil in 1992. In 1996 I licensed the product to TTI-Blakemore, a major fishing tackle conglomerate, from which I am still paid monthly royalties from sales of the product.

I invented and marketed five additional outdoors products, also getting these into Wal-Mart stores and afterward sold them outright rather than licensing them. I learned a great deal about invention marketing during those years and was privileged to meet the CEOs of many well-known companies. I was also invited for television and radio appearances and met with the T.V. hosts of many fishing shows and was featured in the May 2001 issue of Inventors digest magazine. I enjoy writing books, e-books and articles on the subject of invention marketing.

I received a diploma from Liberty University for completion of theological studies in 1996. I served as a youth minister, Bible teacher and guest speaker in fundamental, evangelical Christian churches, from 1983 to 2001. I enjoy writing books and articles on Bible subjects as well.

In 2003 I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism; "Hashimoto's thyroiditis" being the cause. This autoimmune form of thyroid disease that causes destruction of the thyroid gland resulted in my also developing "Chronic Fatigue Syndrome", due to a compromised immune system with severe co-morbid "Adrenal Fatigue". I also suffered severe anxiety symptoms, including panic attacks early into the onset of Hashimoto's thyroiditis (Hashitoxicosis). A common heart murmur I was diagnosed with in my teens called "Mitral Valve Prolapse", also worsened in severity of symptoms, with the development of these other health disorders.

My eventual receiving of a diagnosis was a difficult process with proper diagnostic testing not being ordered by the first doctors I sought treatment from. These types of issues were inspiration for me to become proactive in my own health care and to self-educate myself on these health disorders, which I have done extensively since 2003. I now enjoy sharing this information with other patients experiencing my same health disorders, through e-books, books and articles.

I was able to get a free copy of this ebook through forum correspondence with the author and I enjoyed reading about his own experience with hypothyroid. Much of the information he gives can be found similarly online but you have to go to lots of websites to get more than just general reads on different aspects of diseases and this book had all of the information I was needing including about different types of hormones prescribed for different kinds of hypothyroid cases. The medical websites I visited were more general on this and for this reason I gave a good rating on this ebook.
