This review is from: Complete Physical Education Plans for Grades 5 to 12-2nd Ed (Paperback)
This book is complete with 14 sports units, plus fitness testing, dance, and gymnastics. It includes traditional and non-traditional sports units. What I appreciated most about the book were the assessments. It has rubrics at the beginner, intermediate, and advanced level for many units (not all units). It also includes some written tests/ quizzes. I used some of their questions to create my own quizzes. There are some great ideas for drills and lead-up activities, and the book also has some insightful, standards-driven closure questions that I am using in my classes. This is not the type of book you can use as a rigid curriculum - there is no book like that for PE because of the varying ability levels and large classes we have in PE. But, it is an excellent resource if you are willing to spend the price. I've been a PE teacher for 16 years in Adapted PE, middle school PE, and now I'm in my first year at a high school - this is a great resource that was well-worth the price tag!
