Author of seven dog books, one a 'Book of the Year' (DWAA), along with many award winning canine articles, Kathryn's second breed book on the Portuguese Water Dog (1997) is called the bible of the breed. A third breed book on the Havanese toy dog, entitled "The Joyous Havanese" (2005), now in its fifth printing that includes the revised 2011 Havanese breed standard, is a top seller among both novice and experienced breeders because she knows how to combine factual information in a charming and irresistible writing style. Research for her first novel, "Rosa and The Prince" (2001), Revised (2009) took four years to complete; Written as a novel, It's a true love story of the tragic Crown Prince Rudolph of Habsburg and Kathryn's grandmother. Readers say it is a page-turner, a never-to-be-forgotten passionate love story.
"Shattered Innocence, The Adventures of Janice, Melissa and Andrew," is her second novel. She was prompted to write "Shattered" because although the story is fictitious, it tells of the horrific slave trafficking problem all over the world and how three young adults, of a Montana ranching family, stumble into this sick, horrible crime and how each escape. The ranching family story that winds through the book makes for every page enjoyable reading even though vivid descriptions show how easily children and young adults can be kidnapped by these billion dollar criminal organizations and turned into 'commodities.'' " We need to find ways to end this worldwide scourge, which has never been so prevalent in the history of the world as it is now," writes Kathryn. "Help."
Her third novel,"Murder in the Senior Manor" (2011), is a humorous as well as a fascinating murder mystery. The fun begins when Louise Knight, a Senior Manor retiree, discovers the body of a fellow resident, horrifically murdered. Along with finger-nail biting time, this bold and whimsical page turner also transports you into a retire home with realistic glimpses of some of the cosmetic and physical amenities seniors enjoy. Another plus: fascinating stories of several residents take you back to the Great Depression days. Kathryn is now at work on this book's sequel.

This book is my bible when it comes to this excellent breed of dog. I am so proud to own 2 of this fine breed. This book has been able to answer all my question from care of my new litter of pups to my very first interest of where these dogs came from. I have found that the book is very accqurate in the information regarding personality as well as other info. about this breed. You can't go wrong. I would also like to thank the author of the book and the many people who gave this sweet and special breed a 2nd chance at life. I can't imagine my life without my Porty babies.
