I bought this book to help me prepare for a career with the postal service. At age 45, I need to concentrate on a career, not just a good job, one with benefits like health insurance and retirement. T.W. Parnell's book is the closest thing to the real test as you can get without having the postal service give you copy of the test in advance. The book is laid out exactly, and I mean exactly like the real test. The test will be given to you just like you see in the book. By using the precisley timed audio CD's, you can practice over and over by using the answer sheets provided, until you not only get it right, but until you get it right and increase your speed so you can use the time to either check your answers, or utilize the test taking strategies to get a leg up on the competition. Speaking of the "competition," I witnessed many unprepared people who were blown away at taking this test, and some people were so intimidated by the postal exam they walked out in frustration. By using the test-taking strategies and memorization techniques in this book, I had all the confidence in the world and my test score proves it!

I've searched and scoured online for a book to aptly prepare me for my postal exam and further my chances towards becoming an employee with the United States Postal Service.. and my searches have yielded me one such book. This book I paid $29.99 for and would gladly pay that again in a heartbeat! I studied the pages preceding the "practice exams" every night for a month prior to my test date, then once I received notice of my test date, I began taking the tests. I received high scores never lower than 95% every practice exam I took.. and going into the test I felt more confident about any test I'd ever taken in my life. I received my results about a week ago.. and sure enough I had aced the test. This book for the most part gets you psyched and ready for the test mentally.. but it also gives you the physical endurance as well as tips and tricks that help you to break down this would-be "doozy" of a test.

Honestly... buy this book and you won't be disappointed.. I know I sure wasn't! Email me if you need any further assurance/proof!

This was a great book. T.W. Parnell was right on about what goes on during a postal exam from stating that the fact that practicing his techniques is your best bet at a good grade, right down to treating your pencil like it were poison when you aren't filling in those little bubbles. The techniques were excellent. If it hadn't been for them I would have felt very lost during the exam. With them, I was able to put everything else aside and concentrate on my exam which helped me to achieve a great score. The only thing that was better that his hints on acing the fourth part of the test was the audio timing CD. That was a wonderful addition. My thanks to T.W. Parnell!

This book was an exact representation of what to expect on the 473/C postal exam. Not only did the CDs help me keep my timing up, I finished every section on the real test with enough time left to double check my answers! Half the people taking the exam with me did not even finish half the test sections! I highly recommend this product to anyone looking to ace the exam.

If you want a job with the Postal Service as a Clerk, City Carrier, Mail Handler, etc. you have to take the 473 Exam. You MUST score high if you want a career in the Postal Service, and in order to score high you need this book. This study guide was the best investment I have ever made. Straightforward and to the point, very precise. This is THE one and only Postal Exam 473 study guide to purchase. Using this study guide, I achieved a very high score, and could not have done so without diligently using this guide by Mr. Parnell. The audio CD is just like the actual test. The most valuable part of this book is the section on Coding and Memory, the strategies presented for this section have to be the best you will find in any study guide on the market. This study guide will help you to achieve a top score if you use it diligently. In addition to using Mr.Parnell's study guide, I purchased his Speed Marking & Test Scoring Pencils, and they make all the difference in the world! When I took the test, other test takers spent unnecessary time coloring in the ovals on the answer sheet. With the special pencils I purchased, I filled in the ovals in half the time! Customer Service is also top notch, Mr. Parnell is very friendly and knowledgeable of this test and the Postal Service. If you want a career with the Postal Service, start by purchasing this study guide, use it diligently, and you will achieve the score you want!

I took the postal exam in late November and although I have not received my scores yet, I do not think I would have been prepared for the lengthy exam if it were not for this guide. The audio CDs were incredibly helpful for practicing and were a great aid in helping me establish a rhythm. I have a terrible concept of time but with this book's help, I was able to pace myself accordingly.

UPDATE: I scored an 81.80. From what I understand, if you do not have any vet points, the highest scores are usually in the mid-80s.

I bought the version of T W Parnells book that came with two audio CDs. I had two weeks to prepare for my postal exam and would not have scored in the top 5 percent of my testing group without this excellant book. The audio practice test CD replicated the exact time and instructions of the real test. I went into the exam knowing exactly what to expect and had practiced all of the helpful test taking tips numerous times. I finished each section of the test before the time limit, giving me time to review my answers and correct any mistakes. I am now near the top of the list of eligible candidates for employment with my local post office. I strongly recommend buying the pencils too. WHEN I RECEIVED THE LETTER FOR THE EXAME I STARTED A LITTLE SEARCH FOR BOOKS TO PREPARE MY SELF FOR WHAT WAS COMING, AT ONE POINT I HAD 9 BOOKS AT MY HOUSE BUT NONE OF THEM WAS JUST FOR THE 473 EXAME. I'M SO GLAD I SEARCHED ONLINE FOR THIS ONE, THE BOOK IS SO EASE TO UNDERSTAND AND THE CD YOU CAN PLAY ANYWERE YOU WANT, HALF OF THE BOOK IS EXAMES PREP LAID OUT JUST LIKE THE REAL ONES, YOU CAN TIME YOURSELF AND BE READY. I DID IT, THE EXAME WAS VERY EASE FOR ME AND I FINISH ALL THE QUESTIONS WITH TIME TO SPARE. GREAT BOOK!

This is a fantastic book filled with great information, tips and wonderful practice tests....IF you ever even get a chance to take the post office exam. I ordered this book as well as another post office book a few weeks after applying for the exam hoping to prepare. Well, it's been over three months, the books came and I am prepared...but I still haven't even heard word back when I will, and if ever will be scheduled to take the exam. I didn't know this before (the book even states it) but it can take many months, even up to a year or so to be scheduled for the exam after applying for it. Even AFTER the exam (and passing), it can take YEARS to even get an interview. That's even if you get selected and you haven't been thrown out or forgotten about. You may even have to take the test again (and go through the whole waiting process and exam AGAIN). Regardless, The book is great and is a wonderful help and is essential if you want to do well (preparing) for the exam. I wish I could give feedback on how it really helped me, but I don't know yet. I recomend this book, but you don't need to rush out and buy it right after applying for the exam. You won't need it that soon. It won't hurt, but if you do, you will have PLENTY of time to prepare.

I did really well on the exam using the methods mentioned in this book. I recommend this book for anyone seriously looking to do well on the postal exam. T. W. Parnell mentions an 85 being the best score recorded and I had an 82.
