YES - GET THIS ONE!, June 9, 2010

This is another one of those essential blues albums. The first five songs are worth ten bucks alone, cause you get THREE versions of Matchbox Blues - all different (not just in vocals and guitar phrasing, but different variations of standard tuning in A) and apparently of which Mr. Lemon often varied in this showpiece number. The insight into his guitar playing makes those versions well worth it. Add to that Black Snake Moan, Hot Dogs, He Arose From the Dead, See That My Grave is Kept Clean, One Dime and Easy Rider (beautify song BTW).
Yeah, Yazoo has another great set with many of BLJ's greatest hits (but it's missing Black Snake Moan). But don't let owning that collection stop you from buying this one. It's worth it.
The first volume in this document set is also essential. You get the first few religious numbers before he starts pounding those Texas blues.
