I first heard sister in 1944 and fell in love with her no-nonsense, straight-forward gospel singing and guitar playing. On most of these sides the Sam Price Trio and Marie Knight accompany her. Two sides are with the Dependable Boys. This CD is not only for the religious, but also for those who like their gospel hot with a boogie beat. For years I've been looking for...

If you buy this cd hoping to hear some of the guitar work that she is so well known for, be prepared to be disappointed. A nice gospel album but little in the way of jaw-dropping guitar playing.
