Wonderful,
This review is from: Complete Recorded Works 1 (1928-32) (Audio CD)
I love this collection of Scrapper's work.
I think the man was a genius from his voice down to his hand. Listen to the samples provided by Amazon: Kokomo Blues, Penal Farm Blues, Down and Out Blues, Springtime Blues ets. The sounds on this recording convey so much more than I could do by my paltry description. Scrapper was one of the BEST as far as I'm concerned. Not only don't they make music like this anymore - it can't be done. It's music from a bygone era - another age - and it has 'aged' beautifully. Srapper offers a quality and integrity that offers top-tier musicianship.
