Excellent Log Book,

Have been using this log book for years and find it full of useful information and thoughtful essays at the beginning of every month. Lots of room to write about whatever aspects of the workout are relevant. There are separate sections to record race results and a calendar for each month to sketch out your training plan. I'm a triathlete and can use it to track all of my workouts.

I buy one of these for my wife every year for Christmas. She's a big triathlete and marathon runner and records her workouts religiously. Perfect book for keeping a log for all your workouts.

I love this log. My earliest versions were written by Jim Fixx. The log is nicely laid out with plenty of room for any comments I might wish to make. Also, it's fun for me to look back over my years of running and racing to recapture the feel of some great runs -- as well as some that nearly wore me down. This log is as close as I'll ever come to writing a diary.

I have used this book in it's various incarnaions since 1994. It provides a format to record your running mileage and details for every week and while also compiling your yearly total. The training suggestions and running related anecdotes are also helpful.

I buy this every year it's the best runners log that I've seen since the early 80's. It has all the room you will need for writing and very interesting tidbits about running. Plus you don't have to put a date in, it's already done for you. I will continue to buy this every year as long as I can still run.

Marty Jerome's THE COMPLETE RUNNER'S DAY-BY-DAY LOG: 2010 DESK CALENDAR stands alone as the best annotated daily log calendar available -- rich in motivating photographs and paragraphs, intelligently written, and teeming with useful advice for both the ordinary casual runner and the more dedicated long-distance harrier. Plenty of space is provided for runners to enter their own daily summaries of their personal athletic experiences, to keep track of training routines, and to plan for upcoming running events. The photographs, interspersed throughout the training log, bring heart-warming smiles and visualized incentives to anyone wondering whether it's worth leaving one's warm and comfortable abode for a run outdoors. More importantly, even for experienced runners the words of advice and tidbits of informative, up-to-date and accurate health information on everything from injury recovery to foot-strike techniques will provide welcome words regarding a broad range of running-related topics. These suggestion-filled commentaries will make any reader, and certainly athletes, want to get up in the morning, turn to the day's page in the running log and think about a running plan for that day while devouring the accompanying advice-packed paragraph. This is my second year using this wonderful calendar log; it is a pleasure to read, practical, and easy to use. A must-have for any runner or anyone thinking about becoming a runner.

The Runner's Day-by-Day Log and Calendar is a very useful tool for runners. I have purchased it every year since Jim Fixx created the first log in 1979. John Jerome took it over after Fixx died and his son Marty is carrying on the tradition. The book is now printed in China, which I don't like, but it remains a useful tool nonetheless. It is a handy place to keep track of daily workouts and races and has many good tips and essays for each month. I am a veteran of more than 100 marathons and 50 ultramarathons and have found the logs to be very handy through the years.

If no other gift at Christmas, this is the required favorite for my husband. He uses it every day and has done this for well over 15 years. Please keep printing it every year--no changes needed!

I have been using the Day-by-Day Log and Calendar for more than 30 years. The monthy essay and weekly tips provide information and inspiration to keep running and enjoying it. Each time I run, I record temperature, weather conditons, place, time of day, distance, shoes (I run alternately in two pairs of shoes), running time, percentage of the year, percentage of my yearly goal (725 miles) reached, and money earned. I pay myself 40 cents per mile for running and buy clothes with the money. Marty Jerome, as his father before him, and as Jim Fixx before them, communicates an enthusiasm for running and its benefits that I look forward to every running day.
