The Complete Schipperke is an excellent book about the breed, containing many photographs of notable Schipperkes and fanciers, and information about Kennels which have made significant contributions to the breed. I dispute the previous review; the Officers and Board of Directors of the Schipperke Club of America exercised diligent oversight of all the contents of the book, including the chapter describing the Ideal Schipperke. As in Conformation judging, some fanciers disagree, to a greater or lesser extent, about some of the information presented. Such disagreement does not make the information incorrect. Material for the book was solicited from a wide cross section of fanciers, including members of the Schipperke Club of America, and other fanciers of the breed. And since the emphasis is on the Schipperke in America, and the book was authored by the Schipperke Club of America, the content is predominantly focused on Schipperkes and kennels in America. After the final draft was approved in its entirety, errors made by editors and layout personnel at the publisher resulted in some photographs being mis-placed, and the entire half of the frontispiece photograph, containing the Schipperke, being deleted. There were also some minor errors in transcription of some pedigrees. However, viewed in its entirety, this is an outstanding resource book for those wanting accurate information about the Schipperke in America. I am a member of the Schipperke Club of America, and currently serve as President.

The Complete Schipperke is the most eclectic text so far on the Schipperke Breed. However, some content that is a matter of public record is incorrect. This is confusing and misleading when dealing with bloodlines and pedigrees. The portion of the book that covers the Ideal Schipperke, was written by an individual/s, without Schipperke Club of America's oversight. Several portions of this new "Ideal" text make drastic changes to qualities that are "unique" to the Breed. In earlier editions, this particular text, written by the breed's human "cornerstones", has never come into question. Material for the book was limited to the Schipperke Club of America Membership, in the main, therefore it is substantially misleading by non-disclosure of this fact, within the Fancy. I am a member of the "SCA"--then and now--incorrect pedigrees referenced at least one of my dogs. Coverage of my kennel history is erroneous. Others were also disturbed or disenchanted with the final product

A must have for all Schipperke owners. The best source for Schipperke Care, History, Breed Standard, Founding Stock, etc.

I recently tried to order this item and was told by amazon that they were not able to supply it. Just a head's up.
