Yes, it was quite a while ago when we wrote it, but the official credit is Robert McGarvey and Elise Caitlin, just for the record.

A fascinating and entertaining list of how it's done, May 2, 2006
This review is from: Complete Spy (Mass Market Paperback)
I first stumbled on a copy of this book back in 1983, the year it was published, quite by accident. A local indie bookstore had ordered it by mistake because it had the same title as the collection of Mad Magazine "Spy vs. Spy" comics and had placed it in the humor section.
This bizarre error on their part was quite fortuitous as it gave me a fascinating breakdown on skills educators and equipment providers, all the while, presenting the skills and equipment in a humorous way that established contexts for their application.
My only regret is that many of the companies listed in 1983 as providers have changed their names, their addresses, or even their business models such that as a simple sourcing guide, this book has lost some of its utility. Nonetheless, it is a very entertaining and informative read for the novice or hobbyist interested in the rudimentary aspects of tradecraft.
