I had not always been a fan of St Therese and her "little way". I was more enamored of a "manly" spirituality trying to do only "Big Things" for God. But at my age of 64 years, it dawned on me that these things did not make me a better person in every day life and besides, these things that I thought were "Big" suddenly didn't seem so important anymore. Therese showed me a way to be a hero in another way; by doing everyday little things( throwing out the trash, mowing the yard, bringing my wife a cup of coffee; things done with love for God and those people who He puts in my path. This book has a lot in it besides the autobiography and I am glad that I bought it. I recommend it to anyone looking honestly for happiness.I also recommend the St Therese Prayer Book from Paraclete Press. |
