4.0 out of 5 stars The Complete Typographer
A bit expensive but worth every penny. This book shows you typography inside and out. Shows many typeface and ways type can be used as well as the history of type.

versus
3.0 out of 5 stars Don't purchase for the design
Content useful for rudimentary typography instruction however the typesetting for a
book on typography leaves much to be desired with poor line breaks and bad rags.
As such a good tool to demonstrate poor rags to students. Rather old-fashioned and stodgy
as book design goes. Material could be more accessible and interesting to students of design...

Minor exterior damage but the inside is like new. I'm more than satisfied with my purchase and I'd recommend it to anyone else

I am training to be a graphic designer and this is my text for the course. It is an excellent book and is one I will keep as a reference for a long time.

As such a good tool to demonstrate poor rags to students. Rather old-fashioned and stodgy
as book design goes. Material could be more accessible and interesting to students of design
if the layout was more sensitive to "high" design or at minimum in keeping with books like
Bringhurst's " The Elements of Typographic Style." Ellen Lupton does a better job with her books.
This book is way too expensive for young designers!
