I consider this dictionary a real tool for the study of the Old Testament words. I think it is better and more updated than the "Gesenius' Hebrew-Chaldee Lexicon of the O.T." and more handy with bigger letters than the classic "The New Brown-Driver-Briggs-Gesenius Hebrew-Aramaic-English Lexicon". I think the book is directed to the novice as well as to the scholar student of the Bible. It is a pity that is not so much known as many other Hebrew dictionaries. Perhaps it lacks somewhat of the apparent and refined scholarship of other dictionaries, but personally I prefer its simple, concise and direct analysis of the entries it uses.

An observation addressed to Amazon: Why is it so difficult to find this book by searching it by its title inside the site of amazon.com?

If you are a serious student of G_d's Word you will be impressed by this most highly recommended Word Study Dictionary.
I recommend that you also purchase the work of Zodhiates, from AMG Publishers.
I assure you that it is compatible with the Strong's concordance; and that you will be delighted with the insight and inspiration involved in these great works.
For those studying the Torah or Old Testament, Theologians or philosophers alike will appreciate this great work.

The Word Study Old Testament Dictionary used together with the Word Study Old Testament adds depth and incite to many verses which we thought we already fully understood.

This book is a great study tool for all Bible student who enjoy going into the Word for deeper understanding.

The Zodhiates Word Study Bibles and Dictionaries are indispensable study tools if you want to know what Scripture really means. Digging down to the root words and understanding their original intent and context sheds light you just can't get any other way. Zodhiates has earned the respect of scholars for a reason, and these books are accessible for anyone.

Wonderful resource for inductive Bible study! I use this when taking a Kay Arthur Precept class and it brings the words to life!

I actually purchased this product in electronic form from the publisher's website and so I have both the Old and New Testament editions. This dictionary is amazing! It gives context, expository notes and so much more. This and my concordance are my two most indispensable tools for Bible Study (and of course the Bible itself!)

I have found this Word Dictionary most helpful in my study of God's Word. While Strongs dictionary is good this one gives in depth definitions to the original words verse by verse. I recomend this book to the Bible student no matter what level they are in.
