Incomplete Works,
By
This review is from: Complete works (Paperback)
Do not buy this edition thinking you are getting all of Gascoigne's works. I purchased it under that impression, and was severely disappointed. Despite being advertised as the "Complete Works", this is only the first volume of what was originally a two-volume set edited by John W. Cunliffe. This volume, containing "The Posies," was published in 1907. The second volume was published in 1910. It is misleading and deceptive to call this single volume "Complete Works" and give no indication that it is volume 1 of 2. Also, the publisher of this reprint doesn't seem to have the second volume available.
Kessinger Publishing has the two volume set. In that edition, the first volume is called "The Posies," and the second, "The Complete Works of George Gascoigne v2." |
