This review is from: The Complete book of vitamins and minerals for health (Hardcover)
I found this huge book at a secondhand bookshop and thought it might be worth a couple of bucks. And it was, ... just. The book does a nice review of what the body's major nutrients (vitamins, minerals) are and why they are important. Better still, it also outlines the major food sources containing these nutrients. However much of this information is readily available online, and I found the book a bit too aggressive in giving examples of what happens when one doesn't get enough of a nutrient. Although surely not the intention of the authors, it seemed all like a scare tactic into getting folks to either buy supplements or, preferably, eat their fruits and veggies.Bottom line: although this book is very dated it still offers some value. Yet there are certainly better books on the topic. |
