From Library Journal
This new edition of a time-tested book features some rewritten text and many new photographs. The international scope and historical perspective are similar to Monique and Hans Dossenbach's Noble Horse ( LJ 11/1/85), plus there is useful information on equine health, stable management, breeding, training, and riding. This book will appeal most to the established horse fan who understands equestrian vocabulary (no definitions included) and has some background knowledge, although the beginner can also benefit. Comprehensive, highly recommended. Joanne K. Hammond, formerly with Pennsylvania State Univ. Lib., Mont Alto
