Completely Confused by Measurements--Please Help I currently have the venerable SR-GE10N rice cooker. It shows markings going up to 5 cups in it's bowl. I cook about 2.5 cups of uncooked rice at a time (and once I fill bowl with water, that's the units maximum capacity). It results in about 5-6 good sized portions of cooked rice.
Most modern rice cookers use the Japanese measuring cup as standard, which is the size of the measuring cup included with the rice cooker. A Japanese rice cup is usually equivalent to about 3/4 of an American measuring cup (~6oz.) or 180ml metric.
