Editorial Reviews

Product Description

In The Complex Infrastructure Known as the Female Mind, Relient K expounds on their experiences observing the opposite sex. Detailing some of the "girl types" they've encountered--like the Homecoming Queen, The Athlete, and The Overachiever--they share personal stories and bibilical advice for girls of any type to become women of God.

The band's fun attitude is present throughout the book in quizzes, lists, personal stories, and more!

5.0 out of 5 stars Guys know more than we give them credit for..., November 22, 2004
Okay, so if you have heard any of Relient K's songs, you should already know that they are a gifted bunch! But who would have know that in all of their twenty-something years they would have soaked up all this useful information about GIRLS, and themselves (BOYS)?

They talk about several different TYPES of girls (and if you're anything like me, you'd probably say you could never fit into any one type...but they make it clear in the book that no one could ever fit perfectly into one type. The types range from Rock Chick to Vanilla Pudding (no, not the dessert)...You'll see what I mean when you read the book.

On to the boys...They describe in detail two very different types of boys -- One is rude and quite obnoxious, while the other you'll probably want to bring home to Mom. They explain that there's a little of both in every guy. They dedicate a whole chapter to revealing the mystery of what guys are thinking and what their mannerisms mean.

They don't hold back either, so don't think they're going to sugarcoat anything! The group gives great insight throughout the book about life, love, and a few things girls do (and wear) that annoys them.

They're always funny! The book was a great read, a great first effort from the boys, and I definitely would recommend it to anyone who's down for a good laugh and to learn something about themselves or the opposite sex. The RK boys never disappoint! And as always M@ rox!

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredibly Funny, True and not the least bit unchristian..., January 4, 2005
By Joanna (Northfield, Minnesota, USA) - See all my reviews
While the guys of Relient K are devoted Christians, all their songs have always been a little funny and off kilter. So is this, their writing debut. It is completely entertaining and their charm shines through in every word. The "types" of girls are stereotypical, but somehow creative and easy to identify with. There is quite a bit of indepth study involved on the part of the guys and they manage to give a view of how each girl interacts with her friends, herself and her church. Even the 2 guy types, as vague as they are to illustrate that guys are much less complex than girls are really funny. I wish I had a Mr. Wonderful :P While this book is not overtly Christian, this is a terribly excellent and funny book written by a really amazing and fun Christian band for any girl who can answer yes, yes and diet coke to the three questions on the back. :P I recommend it to everyone!! It's possibly my favorite book ever! lol

5.0 out of 5 stars know what you want, March 18, 2005
hi guys! (or should i say girls?)

this book in my opinion is a wonderful extension of relient k's work. yes, it's intensely goofy, and no, if you're looking for a manual on how to land a christian husband, this isn't your book. but if you want some funny advice on how to deal with guys, this is an excellent, faily short and hilarious read.
