Essential reading for CFC enthusiasts!,

I bought this book initially because I thought it was going to be about the Combined Federal Campaign, Cooperative Finance Corporation, Canadian Firearms Centre, or one of the other subjects I'm interested in. Imagine my surprise when I learned that it is really about a kind of chemical used in air conditioning units! Despite my initial disappointment I started reading, and after a page or so I was hooked! This book offers must-have advice for cooling chemical enthusiasts. You will learn, for example, that CFCs are not like canned sterno; you cannot filter them through bread for a refreshing beverage, and you should not try to start a fire with them. Frankly I do not know how I managed to get along without this book for so long. The other day I was mugged on the subway, and the only thing the robber took from my backpack was this book. It's that good! Fortunately I had extra copies in my home and workplace.

This is, quite simply, the best book about complying with the CFC prohibitions of the Clean Air Act that I've ever read. If there were more good, wholesome books like this one, instead of books filled with sex, violence, and witchcraft, our world would be a lot better off.

Why no movie yet?,

Rumor has it that this book was all set to be made into a movie, and then . . . nothing. I understand that it was originally considered a likely Ben Affleck vehicle, but negotiations fell through or something.That's too bad because the whole chlorofluorocarbons issue has been begging for cinematic treament for years, and this book appeared to be the perfect instrument.
