This review is from: Component Design Northwest Digital Probe Thermometer & Timer - White
I tried using this probe for deep frying in a dutch oven. The probe said 324 deg. when the oil started smoking. I found a candy thermometer to confirm the real temperature, It was over 400. The probe thermometer registers 37 deg for freezing and 199 for boiling. I will be returning this probe.
