Editorial Reviews

On July 23rd 2011, world-renowned actor Sir Anthony joined the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra on stage at Birmingham Symphony Hall to introduce a performance of his original compositions and scores from some of his best-known films. Composer is the live recording of Sir Anthony's original works from that evening, including pieces composed for two films that he not only scored but also directed and starred in.

I also was listening to NPR this morning and when I heard "The Waltz goes on" I was so impressed with it's loveliness
that I had to remain in the car to see who was being interviewed. One of those NPR drive-way moments! Sir Anthony is certainly a multi-talented actor.

I heard the interview on NPR this morning and am VERY impressed. What a talented man. He was initially interested in music before acting and has combined the two in some of his films.

I was absolutely blown away by the 1st song they played during this morning's NPR interview: The Plaza It was like Big Band on speed! I didn't hear the other Waltz number. Would've been a "driveway moment" but I had an appt. Bravo, Sir Anthony

Anthony Hopkins has great friends in all the great places -- including composers who will take his melodies and tinkerings and turn them in to symphonies. Lush, interesting, and enjoyable. Bought it as a result of hearing the music on an NPR interview. I mean, Who KNEW! Like learning Caroll O'Connor studied opera...and so did wife on Archie Bunker program, Edith. RiP, both...amazing folks.

I was astounded to hear the maturity of this album. Mr. Hopkins shows us that his genius is not only for acting!

I heard this recording this morning on NPR.
I had to stop the car as I could not believe this was composed by Sir Anthony Hopkins.
The music is absolutely beautiful.
Too bad that the album is not available in the US. Could not find it in iTunes either.
Might have to ask a friend to buy it for me in Europe.
Can't wait to get it.

I too heard this interview today on NPR, but I did not catch who the Interviewee was. Who is this fascinating, talented actor who takes inspiration from music and really has always been a musician at heart? The piece for piano and orchestra "Margam" was just exquisite, how surpised I was to learn this was Sir Anthony by the end of the interview! If interested, you must watch the summer 2011 debut in Vienna of "The Waltz Goes On" on YouTube. It pretty much says what his invovlvement with music is all about..
