5.0 out of 5 stars A Composer's Insight Volume 3, September 23, 2009
This review is from: A Composer's Insight, Volume 3: Thoughts, Analysis and Commentary on Contemporary Masterpieces for Wind Band (Paperback)
I cannot recall any other branch of music in which composers have seized the opportunity of in depth discussion of their music, their artistic life and beliefs, and have offered every facet of their art for public consumption. Salzman has developed a brilliant game plan, has assembled a fine team of writers, and the results are three exemplary books on the art of composition which should be in every musician's library.
Timothy Reynish, Past President of World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles
Former Chairperson, Department of Winds & Percussion, Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, England
