I just opened the box and checked out this poker chip set. I was somewhat suspicious about the low cost and wasnt sure what id be getting. I thought id share a few thoughts. First of all 1000 chips is ALOT of chips!! I didnt realize how big (and heavy) the carrying case was going to be. For casual play amongst 3-6 players i would go with the 500chip set - 1000 is quite a load to carry around and kind of overkill. I also am not sure if i like the denominations on the chips themselves- may just be a personal preference. I think ill suspend my view on that till i start playing with them.
The chips themselves are nice - solid, heavy classic type chips. Thats the main strength of the set. I would say my main gripe is with the carrying case - at least for this 1000 chip set, its too flimsy. I dont think the handle or the clasps are going to last long. You can just tell the amount of material they put in the case does not match the heaviness of the chips. It even opens abit on the sides from the pressure. Ill probably get a different case down the road. The case would actually be nice for other items, like important larger papers, documents etc- just not designed for heavy items.
The dice and the playing cards are a nice addition - and really for $60 your getting a deal with all the chips and extras. Just realize your going to be straining your arm carrying this thing around - and that the case is nothing to write home about. All in all a good deal - but wish i had got the 500 set and a better case.

This set was a really good present for myself. I have poker chips out the wazoo and enough dice to play yahtzee if I wanted to. There are two sets of cards and those little blind chips in case you want to play Craps. I really didnt expect such a great quality item for the little money I spent on this. If I need another set I will definately get another of these.

excellent chips, well worth the money, what a great deal. Would do again tommorrow if I had to for more chips. Excellent quality, and quick shipment.

Fantastic set of chips. Easy to read on the table, and they handle well. The case is sturdy enough, but I've seen better inlays. Like the other reviewer; in a pinch, I'd pick up another set if necessary. Great value.

If you need alot of poker chips at a cheap price. This is the way to go. The center is a sticker and already have a couple stickers fall off. The case is pretty cheap.

After a few times runnning out of chips with a 300 chip set, I asked for Christmas for an upgrade. I recieved the chips as a gift and they are great. The chips feel very nice and were very sturdy. One of the rows has a chipped chip in it due to shipping, but since there was 999 more of them, I wasn't overly concerned.

The set is heavy. Its not something easily transported, but if its in your house it's not a problem. It comes with a key to lock the set, and it has a good assortment of blind/kill buttons. The chips play well, and time will tell about their durability. The case seems a bit flimsy, but thats really the only negative of the set. For the price, a great buy!

The chips are acceptable for the price.

Pros:
1) Price. And the set works well for home games.
2) Lots of extra stuff: 4 decks of cards, dealer button, lots of other buttons, key chains, etc.

Cons:
1) The case is pretty flimsy; I doubt it will last very long.
2) A high percentage of the chips (probably 30% or so) have off-centered stickers, which are easily peeled off (not from normal use, however).
3) When you first open the set, the chips are covered in black powdery stuff.

All in all, a good deal for the price, but I'm not going to make gifts of this product.

I bought this 1000 piece poker chip set for a 20 year old that is really into poker. She absolutely loved the set... said it was more chips than she ever expected to get. The price was unbelievable. It came in a nice, silver briefcase... very cool looking, with EVERYTHING you could want inside. Highly recommend. Warning, it is *very* heavy. If you pair it with a poker table top, it makes a fantastic gift. I got my poker table top on sale at Big 5 for $29.99... also a great deal.

Awsome set of chips, real casino feel and sound, and never a shortage of chips pleanty for a 10+ person tournement.

For $50, this set is an amazing value. Denominations on chips; 1,000 chips; card and other amenities; great case; quick delivery. The case is heavy due to great quality of chips. Definitely highly recommend this to anyone considering acquiring a set of chips. (Due to weight, shipping may be high, but still a great purchase!)
