This review is from: Composition with Cat: Lost Masterpieces of the Twentieth Century (Paperback)
Delightful! The premise is that a collection of paintings was donated to the Philip Wood Gallery of Nonprimate Art with the stipulation that all of the paintings were to be kept together. When the author, a curator, went to pick up the collection, he found that each painting was a portrait of a cat. None of the paintings were signed, but the styles were recognizable: Magritte, Matisse, Christo, O'Keefe, Miro, Mondrian, Lichtenstein, Hopper, Pollock, Warhol. Each of these artists did in fact own a cat; pictures and brief bios of the kitties are included. If you love cats and/or modern art, this book will delight you.
