I was required to purchase this book for an English 100 class and I have found it to be really helpful. This book teaches you all the basics as well as more useful and interesting techniques. It explains what it means to analyze, gives several sample essays for each concept, and has tips, tricks, and suggestions for everything from how to get good ideas flowing to ending a conclusion well. Grammar hints pages are very useful and clear.

I really like that this textbook encourages writers to think outside the box and write about option C when asked to choose A or B. Coming from Advanced Placement/Honors classes, this book improved even my writing and gave helpful advice that no AP teacher ever mentioned.

I just needed it for class. I got it in a timely manner and it is in good to great condition.

Our class used an e-book however, because I didn't have a strong router, my internet was not consistent and access wasn't always available. I ordered the used hardback textbook and received it within 2 days. It was as good as new and much less expensive! I am in my last module carrying an 'A' -- simply from being able to have that hard copy available to take with me any and everywhere.

I recieved the book in a timley manner. It came with much needed materials that i was not expecting.
