Beyond Michael Short, there are few in-depth biographies of Holst. This is one of those biographies containing a wealth of detail that complements the Short. Extended section on Holst's American excursions. A most welcome volume for anyone interested in Holst.
This is one of those examples of don't judge a book by its cover. The content and scholarship are first rate! Highly recommended. |
