Editorial Reviews

Review

"Whilst primarily aimed at clinicians, the superb readability of the text, combined with excellent illustrations, broadens its appeal to the wider renal care community. This is an excellent clinical and educational resource that I can thoroughly recommend to all members of the multidisciplinary team involved in the day-to-day care and management of renal patients."-Pugh-Clarke K, PhD, MSc, BSc, RN; Journal of Renal Care 2008:110.

I waited for the fourth edition a few months before buying the book and I don't regret it! This edition has been extensively reviewed and updated. It is a faithful companion to the nephrologist, either specialist or fellow. I recommend this textbook without reserves.

Format: Hardcover
This textbook is a very well organized, updated and readable one. The other textbooks available like Brenner and Schrier are kinda difficult to read and assimilate. The book starts with a good overview of basic science which is just essential, when compared to Brenner which has dense topics in the First volume. The chapters on Glomerular disease are wonderful and so are the chapters on Renal failure. The best part of the book are the tables -- simply outstanding with great information. The illustrations are also lucid and clear. The book also deals with interesting topics like nephrology in tropics, hence maintaining its global appeal. I am not a Nephrologist (a Cardiologist rather with an aberrant interest in Internal medicine) ... and have been going through this delightful book since my Internal medicine days ..its a joy !!
