Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

The CorelWEB.GRAPHICS Suite is a group of Internet utilities designed to help you create and enhance Web pages. The suite, for Windows 3.1, 95, and NT, includes CorelWEB.DESIGNER for creating Web pages, CorelWEB.DRAW for creating Web graphics, CorelWEB.Transit for converting your word-processing files to HTML, CorelWEB.MOVE for creating .GIF and Java animations, CorelWEB.WORLD for creating VRML (3-D) worlds, and CorelWEB.GALLERY for organizing and searching through the suite's 7,500 pictures, buttons, backgrounds, and other graphics. In The Comprehensive Guide to CorelWEB.GRAPHICS Suite, authors Daniel Gray and John Shanley target intermediate and advanced PC users who want to learn how to master the entire suite. They explain the package's interface as well as the technical nuances of Web design, using a narrative approach as well as step-by-step instruction and reviews of each package's features. You learn how to create pages with links and Web-safe colors, add special effects to your pages, use basic drawing tools to create interesting graphics, and understand the rudiments and trickier aspects of 2-D and 3-D animation. An included CD-ROM includes freeware and demo versions of popular software packages, including an audio editor, a text editor, a calendar plug-in, a screen-capture program, and a paint program.

2.0 out of 5 stars Missed the boat on this one!, April 9, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: The Comprehensive Guide to CorelWEB.GRAPHICS Suite: The Step-by-Step Guide to Creating Professional Web Pages (Paperback)
The DRAW and PHOTO-PAINT parts of this book are good. However, the book must have been written on a beta version of the program. They missed several functions, such as the program will save the image file to the root directory so all URL's are correct. They spend far too much time on the WEB.DRAW module and not enough on WEB.DESIGNER and the WEB.WORLD. If you have never used DRAW this will help. If you are experienced in DRAW, it will be frustrating. When you are working with a beta version, you should warn the reader. PKGibson
