Mr. Harte is a communications industry expert who is experienced in the high growth telecommunications industry. His 27 years of technology and business experience was developed while serving at leading communications technology companies including Ericsson/General Electric, Audiovox/Toshiba and Westinghouse. Lawrence holds the degrees of Executive MBA from Wake Forest University (1995) and a BSET from the University of the State of New York, (1990). Mr. Harte has instructed at and received numerous certificates from many non-university courses including communications, cryptograph, microwave measurement and calibration, radar, nuclear, Dale Carnegie, 360 leadership, and public speaking.
Mr. Harte has published articles and has been referenced in over 75 telecommunications related articles in industry magazines. He has been a speaker and moderator at numerous industry seminars and trade shows. His magazine publications include Popular Science, Wireless Week, RCR, Cellular Business, Cellular Marketing and others. Between 1993-1995, Mr. Harte published a monthly column in Cellular Marketing called “Techniques.” The monthly Techniques column explained the business related issues behind key technology innovations that were developing in the telecommunications industry.
Since his entrance to the electronics industry in 1977, Lawrence has gained professional experience which includes product management, development, marketing, design, and testing of telecommunications (cellular), radar, and microwave systems.
Beginning in 1995, Lawrence began providing expert information to the telecommunications industry through consulting, authoring, and publishing books. Between 1994 and 1995, Lawrence was Vice President of product management for ReadyCom, a cellular voice paging equipment provider. At ReadyComm, Mr. Harte managed product development for cellular voice paging subscriber products. At ReadyComm, he performed market and technical feasibility analysis for new product development and application areas. He designed a product management process for tracking the development of programs and ensured products could met industry and government requirements.
From 1992 to 1994, Lawrence was the New Products and Applications Manager for Ericsson General Electric. As a product manager, he created and managed a core team of line organization managers to develop new product plans. His responsibility included cellular telephone development for PCS, cellular data modems, CDPD, OEM product management, and other new product concepts. Lawrence worked closely with customers such as AT&T, Southwestern Bell, Cantel, and Cellular One during the new product launch of TDMA digital cellular service.
Between 1989 and 1992, Lawrence was a Digital Cellular Development Engineer at Audiovox Corporation. In this position, he was the liaison between digital industry standards committees, engineering at Toshiba Japan, and customers. During this period, He was a voting member of the Telecommunications Industry Association and an editor of the US Digital Cellular Specification (IS-54, now IS-136). Lawrence supported the sales staff with customers including BMW, BellSouth, Nynex, PacTel (now Airtouch), Bell Atlantic, Southwestern Bell, Bell Mobility (now Bell Canada) and others for technical and marketing issues.
From 1986 to 1989, Mr. Harte was an Automatic Test Equipment Engineer for Test System Associates on site at Westinghouse. At the Westinghouse facility, he converted technical performance requirements into electronic interface devices and created software programs for automatic testing of FB-111 avionics communication equipment.
Between 1977 and 1985, Lawrence was an Electronics Technician in the US Navy which included calibration laboratory supervisor for microwave and RF up to 18 GHz and UHF communication supervisor for the USS Independence.
Lawrence has authored over 12 books and several industry research reports on telecommunications technology including “Delivering xDSL” (2000), “Public and Private Land Mobile Radio Telephone Systems” (2000), “The Comprehensive Guide to Wireless Technologies” (1999), “IS-95 CDMA” (1999), “IS-136 TDMA” (1999), “GSM Superphones” (1998), “Cellular and PCS, The Big Picture” (1997), “Wireless Resale Market Report and Forecast 1997-2002,” (1997), “Cellular and PCS/PCN Telephones and Systems”, (1996), "Digital Cellular: Economics and Comparative Technologies", (1993), and "Dual Mode Cellular (IS-54/IS-136)", (1991). Lawrence is an inventor of several patents including “Cellular Standby Power Saving Systems” (5,224,152 - issued June 29, 1993), 5,568,513, 5,701,329, 5,794,137.
Lawrence has consulted and been an expert witness for companies including AT&T, Nokia, Hughes Network Systems, Casio, Ericsson, Samsung, Sony, AMD, VLSI, Siemens and others.
Steven Kellogg has over fourteen years marketing experience directly within the wireless industry. His career began in 1983, where he led start up operations for several early wireless retail mobile electronics stores. He has collaborated on marketing programs with AirTouch Cellular, AT&T Wireless, GTE Mobilnet, 360 Communications, PageMart and others. Mr. Kellogg has well over 2,000 hours of experience in developing research, and is considered an expert in the strategic marketing development of cellular, PCS, and paging services. He has consulted and developed start up operations and marketing blueprints for both post-pay as well as pre-pay wireless applications in many diverse markets throughout the country. He is a frequent guest speaker, providing wireless launch expertise at the NWRA WIRELESS 97 conference in Washington D.C., as well as the WIRELESS OPPORTUNITIES 97 conference in New York. Mr. Kellogg has co-authored strategic marketing analysis reports, including Reselling Wireless, as well as a frequent contributor to industry trade magazines, including Business Telecom and RCR Magazine.
