4.0 out of 5 stars For the long time fans
This is a great album for long time Shai Hulud fans. It songs and liner notes are snapshots of the band in their early stages. Having loved Hulud for several years, I really enjoyed listening to these demos and reading some of the comments about them in the liner notes. Musically, its probably not going to impress anyone who isn't already a Shai Hulud fan. Most of the...

get this. thier first 7" on crisis, and the full length on rev are classic shai hulud at thier best. ive been into shai hulud since about '98, and very into the damien moyal era, so the origional demo on this (first 6 tracks) are also classic shai hulud. pretty much everything after that on this cd i would agree with the title "useless recordings". this is definatly...

Since the songs are either early demos or live ones, the recording quality is pretty terrible. But it is interesting to see how the songs and lyrics have progressed to their final versions in the full-lengths. If you haven't heard of Shai Hulud, definitely avoid this and pick up a full length. If you're a serious fan, you'll probably want this for completeness.

Having loved Hulud for several years, I really enjoyed listening to these demos and reading some of the comments about them in the liner notes. Musically, its probably not going to impress anyone who isn't already a Shai Hulud fan. Most of the recordings are pretty crappy, and several of the tracks don't even have vocals. However, if you are already a fan of all of Shai Hulud's material, this collection does show some really cool steps in the development of their songs.

holy crap im so f-ing happy. This is official news and is 100% truth. Shai Hulud is back together under the name "the warmth of red blood". Its still shai hulud just without the old singer and guitarist who thought new found glory would be a good band to help expand his musical career (idiot). Matt Fox and Matt Fletcher who were pretty much the brains behind the band are the one's reviving this group. Just thought i'd let you guys know if you didnt.
