The best CD encyclopedia, February 22, 2001
This review is from: Compton's Interactive Encyclopedia (Jewel Case) (CD-ROM)
I've used Encarta (has errors) Grolier's (crashes) and Collier's (have to use Netscape as the interface). Compton's beats them all. It's search function is the best. It finds relevant topics with out finding a lot of irrelavant topics. But where it shines is that it has a lot of upto date information and isn't loaded down with useless 3D multimedia junk that adds no value to the encyclopedia. The fancy graphics in the other brands are pretty to look at but that's about all you can say about them. Compton's has by far been the most helpful for my childern's school work. Now it's the only encyclopedia on our computer.

Compton's Interactive Encyclopedia is a wonderful encyclopedia. It provides a wide variety of information. It even provides an astrology game!
