I purchased this unit because of the high power strobe. I had tried other units with just a flashing LED and they don't alert you very well. I can FINALLY work with power tools in my workshop without missing phone calls!

This really does the job. With normal hearing, I can hardly stand to be around it when it goes off. Works great. Good strobe, too! Only one thing, which is in no way a defect or problem -- don't put it in series with Life Alert. It didn't seem to work on that line, probably due to some proprietary Life Alert protocol on the line. Don't really know. We put it on another phone line, and it works great. It is a good idea to bundle up the wiring to make it neat, if the wiring will be exposed. Great product.

I was looking for a replacement amplified ringer and strobe for my 93 year old grandmother. The original she had from radio shack broke and they no longer carried the item. After reading the reviews on this item I decided to take a chance on it. The ringer volume and strobe worked great. Very close to the one from radio shack, which worked great.

I am hard of hearing and use TV Ears while watching TV.
This thing has a loud signal and a strobe...I never miss
telephone calls now.

I gave one to a family member last year. He liked it so well, he wanted to buy another one. So, I gave him a second one this year. He has an at-home machine shop and does small jobs. He missed a lot of phone calls. Now, this product's strobe light and extremely loud horn help him get all of his calls. He said it was extremely easy to set up. The second one went into the garage. He has no complaints about the product for his use. However, he said the loud horn could be a bit much in close quarters for people with adequate hearing and might scare pets or horses.

VERY LOUD!!! Even the softer volume was piercing for others, but that is probably what you'd want for the hearing impaired person. But just the strobe alone was enough to get your attention.

The amplifier for the ring tone is great. The stobe light itself is not very visible, perhaps a different color light would make that part more visible. Overall we were plesed with the product.

I bought this for my disabled father in law who is hard of hearing. The Strobe really gets his attention and the ring is very loud. One thing I like is that there is a switch to turn the ringer off and only have the strobe. It was very easy to set up. The only thing I would like different is that you need a very small phillips head screwdriver to remove the cover for the batterys. I took the screw out and put a piece of tape to hold the cover in place . no problems now ! Overall a

Bought this for my WWII Marine Vet Dad who is very hard of hearing. Now when the phone rings and the TV's cranked up, he knows it and we can get through to him. Good product.

The best feature of this amplified ringer is the strong strobe flasher. The ringer is loud enough for normal people and those with moderate hearing loss. The 120 dB ringer is not that loud in case of severe hearing loss. The low/high tone switch doesn't give much difference in the ringing sound.
I noticed that the strobe flashes when other phones in the house are dialing!? This might be confusing when you switch ringer off, as you'll get flashes when receiving calls and when other phones are dialing. But it might be good to know that someone else in the house is dialing.
The combinaton of loud ringer and strong strobe flasher makes this unit a perfect choice.
