Editorial Reviews

Review

"A quite welcome addition to the slim canon of materials available...The design of the pages cannot be praised enough; the handwritten tables and illustrations are inviting, rather than forbidding....This handbook fills a gap on the CT bookshelf."--Radiologic Technology (Radiologic Technology )

2.0 out of 5 stars the watered down version of CT, February 25, 2005
By

This review is from: Computed Tomography (Paperback)
This is for thoes who have no idea about the who, what, where, or why of CT. It offers a good start so that when you move on to a better book you will at least know the jargon. Very contradictory and sometimes just plain wrong.

1.0 out of 5 stars Contradicting book, February 8, 2005

This study guide appears to be helpful at first. However, as one gets further along in the book, contradictions appear all over the place. In chapter 5 the author states that "z-axis resolution is reduced with spiral CT", but six pages later in the practice test, the correct answer is z-axis resolution is improved with spiral CT. What gives? Shame on the authors and editors for releasing a study guide that confuses as much as educates. I guess they were too busy counting their dollars to care.

2.0 out of 5 stars NOT beneficial for CT Licensing Exam, January 12, 2005
By

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Computed Tomography (Paperback)
This book is strictly about the mechanics and physics behind computed tomography. This information is only a portion (and not the largest) of the national exam. Additionally, within the first two chapters I found several errors in the chapter information versus the post "examinations." This does not provide allot of confidence in preparing for the exam. I discarded this book and purchased study materials through an online source geared to medical imaging and CT. I did pass the examination!
