Automatically scans inbound email and attachments for virtually all POP3 email clients, including Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Netscape Mail, Eudora, Pegasus, and others.

Advanced heuristic scanning
Stops new and unknown viruses even before they are detected by other virus vendor’s signature files.

Automatic AutoDownload
Automatically updates your virus signature files every 24 hours, or you can schedule it at a time most convenient for you.

SMART AutoDownload AutoDownload provides smaller virus signature files for quicker updates by detecting which signature file version you currently have and only downloading the signatures that you need.

System cure
Whether scanning in real time or on-demand, viruses are captured and cured automatically.

Interactive virus-detection messages
When real-time scanning detects a virus, a pop-up message provides a link to CA’s security advisor, which contains specific information about the virus-threat scheduled scanning. No need to worry about when you performed your last virus scan. eTrust EZ Armor 2005 minimizes the risk of a resident virus infection by allowing you to schedule a scan.

ICSA certification
ICSA is one of the most widely recognized organizations for testing and certifying security software. To be ICSA-certified, the software must detect 100 percent of "in-the-wild" viruses (in general distribution) and at least 90 percent of the more than 6,000 test viruses. All versions of eTrust EZ Armor 2005 are ICSA-certified for antivirus and PC firewall protection.

Firewall security settings
eTrust EZ Armor 2005 provides low, medium, and high firewall security settings for easily customizable security options. In addition to the personalized settings, eTrust EZ Armor 2005 offers program control, allowing you to decide which programs on your PC can access the Internet.

Inbound/outbound MailSafe
MailSafe provides an additional layer of virus protection for your PC by preventing incoming email-borne viruses from opening and stopping outbound virus-infected emails.

Password-protected settings
Password protection allows changes to be made by only one user. This helps prevent accidental changes that may leave you exposed to viruses as other people use your PC.

Developed and backed by CA’s worldwide threat-management team
Global, around-the-clock labs track and cure virus threats before they can damage your PC helping to ensure that your PC is always protected.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE BEST SECURITY SOFTWARE YOU'VE NEVER HEARD OF!! September 20, 2005
I got tired of Norton Anti-Virus. Every upgrade got bigger, clunkier to install, start up and run. Yet, it didn't seem to actually stop viruses from attacking my computers, which I thought was the whole idea in the first place.

eTrust EZ Armor was free, actually, after rebates, so I gave it a try. I couldn't be happier.

First of all, it's a MUCH smaller program to install and run. Installation was quick and smooth. I use the EZ Firewall instead of the one that comes with XP. No problems whatsoever.

The anti-virus software works. No viruses. Updates are timed to your preference. I do them every day, since they takes just a minute or two using dial up, seconds with DSL.

Everything about this software is so much better than Norton's, you will wonder why you didn't switch sooner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific Security Software! February 7, 2005
This software is so great I don't know why it isn't more well known! I first got EZ Armor last year free from the Windows security page. You simply downloaded it from online, and it lasted a year. (I see the Windows security page is now once again showing this free offer.) I believe it took 20 minutes to download with dial-up.And it has worked great all year. It just stays in the background and does what it's suppose to do. To renew online this year, I would have had to pay $29, which is not bad, but I got this 2005 version on CD in the box for cheaper. It took only a few minutes to download. Only, I should have removed the old version, because it expired last week; and when I tried to get the most current virus downloads, it kept telling me I had to renew. Thus, I uninstalled everything, and reinstalled. Once again, both tasks only took a few minutes.Since the Windows Security Pack 2 has a firewall, I debated if I should install the EZ Armor firewall, since you're not suppose to have two firewalls, but decided to go ahead anyway. Because the Windows firewall has caused me problems at certain sites, like eBay, and I've had to turn it off. I tried turning the EZ Armor firewall off first, but that didn't solve the problem. Thus, if I need to turn off the Windows firewall again, I still will have the EZ Armor one on.Talking about eBay, this version of EZ Armor has a password security feature, where it will block your password being sent to any fake eBay sites, like the ones you find in spoof e-mails.As I stated in the beginning--terrific security software! And it only takes 18MB disk space, compared to 71MB for McAfee and 90 MB for Norton!

5.0 out of 5 stars The best of the best February 23, 2005
After years of fighting through Norton and Symantec's bloatware and MacAfee's overly-comercialized offerings I discovered EZ Armor from CA.

I was totally amazed at how good this software is. It is fast, effective easy to configure and very versatile.

It's fast because it's lean. It is a fraction of the size of the competitors and uses less memory and system resources. It's action is transparent to the user and most of the time unless you have a legitimate problem you won't even know it's there and working.

The firewall is as or more effective than any on the market. Plu sit's action is quick and unobtrusive. It does not slow the system down any noticeable amount.

The virus control is simple to use, and keeps itself up to date with no user involvement. It screens e-mail and external threats automatically and effectively.

The pop-up blocker works flawlessly and the cookie control is very customizable where you can block site by site to any level you choose.

I highly recommend this package to any Windows computer user whether thay may be a casual home user or a professional.

CA did an excellent job on this package. This is all I care to use on any of my corporate Windows machines. The price is also excellent so there is no excuse not to leave yourself unprotected.

5.0 out of 5 stars eTrust EZ Armor. Review After 2 Months? July 23, 2005
Well, been using it for awhile and I suppose its been great. Bought for $8.99 with 8 months left is a nice deal. Why do I just suppose its been great? Well, the thing about this antivirus is that it updates 2x a day, almost invisibly and unnoticably behind the background, and works just the same. And when I scan, nothing ever shows up. So I don't know if its really working or not haha. I just know my computer is doing great. Just remember to get the latest version of this antivirus from their site.

The firewall works quite nicely even though you have to give it a few days to configure your settings and see what you want and don't want accessing the computer and internet. But the problem went away. It seems to work quite well.

Do this to protect your computer. You need at least 512 MB Ram for all the usage but do this to protect from 99% Spyware Adware Viruses Hackers etc out there. Get eTrust Armor for antivirus and firewall, let it update automatically twice a day morning and night, than get Ad-Aware SE Personal, Spybot S&D and Spyware Blaster for immunity against spywares etc before they hit your cpu. Find a good registry cleaner and get avant browser if you want, helps stop pop ups which leads to sites that distributes spywares or viruses. Boom. Its been 2 months, only spyware I got are the usual ones that are ALWAYS on my computer. Can't get them out of registry unless I really go into there, I'm not too great on in depth computer stuff so nothing I can do here.

Well, get this software, its scanning is pretty fast. Its overall pretty good. I SUPPOSE. Nice day to all.
